The Volvo Ocean Race ended in June 2018. After a nerve-racking battle, the VO65 Team Brunel finished in third place. The next race will start in 2021, under a new name: The Ocean Race, in which the VO65 class will again participate. We welcome "fans and friends" on board to prepare for this race. From the home port of Scheveningen we made various trips in the summer of 2019 to places including Kiel, Stockholm, Aarhus and Southampton. We broke the record Gotland Runt, sailed the Fastnet Race and sailed Pro-Am races against Team Akzo Nobel.
Sailing Holland, owner of the VO65, has since entered into a partnership with the World Childhood Foundation, founded by the Swedish queen Silvia. The foundation is committed to protecting children against child abuse and sexual abuse. External investors are financing the campaign, with the ambition to participate in the Ocean Race in 2021-22, under the Swedish-Dutch flag. The main goal is to generate attention and brand awareness for the CHILDHOOD foundation.
By sailing along with the VO65 Childhood you invest in the brand awareness of the Childhood foundation. In addition, a trip with the VO65 is an experience that you will never forget. On board everyone gets the chance to help; steering, hoisting the sails or helping on the foredeck. During an offshore you participate in the waiting system and you are fully part of the crew. The experienced crew, consisting of young talented sailors with the dream to sail the next Ocean Race, will gladly show you on board and tell you the tips and tricks of the VO65.
To sail along, we ask for a donation / contribution, which benefits the brand awareness of the World Childhood Foundation and the Childhood1 campaign in the Ocean Race 2021-22.
